CRYSTAL SECONDARY SCHOOL

Welcome to our World!

Principal's Message

Principal Mr D. Abrahams' address.

In our planning for 2015, we were faced with a number of challenges that the various stakeholders at our school will have to address.  In this address I would like to give an overview of these challenges.

These challenges are:

1. FOR THE PRINCIPAL

I will have to see to the professional management of Crystal. Professional management refers to the day-to-day administration and organisation of teaching and learning.  Another challenge will be to breach the gap between planning and implementation at our school.

2. FOR THE SGB

The SGB is responsible for school governance. School governance means organising this policy and rules by which our school is organised and controlled. Therefore, the governing body helps and supports the school manager, educators and the staff in the performance of their professional function.

3. FOR THE SMT

They are to give professional guidance in the learning areas and to go the extra mile.

4. THE EDUCATOR

  • To ensure a culture of teaching at our school
  • To plan for curriculum delivery given the circumstances we work in.
  • To give more, and more, and more …

5. THE LEARNERS

  • To ensure a culture of learning at our school
  • To adhere to basic values and respect
  • To be punctual

6. SUPPORT STAFF

  • Making sure that we have a clean environment to work in

7. SECRETARIES

  • To deal effectively and efficiently with the clients they deal with

8. PARENTS AND GUARDIAN

  • To play a more active role in their child’s education
  • To support the school by getting more involved in the school

For a school to function well everyone (school manager, educators, parents, learners and the local school community) must be accountable. To do this, our school needs to develop a family-friendly environment so that everyone feels comfortable to become involved. This level of belonging is what establishes the attitude of responsibility.

In striving to rise to these challenges, we, as a Crystal School Community, will go a long way in addressing our vision and living out our mission for our school.

I thank you.

D.M. ABRAHAMS

(School Manager)
